Did you know that when your teacher looks at your reading they will be looking at 7 different things?
1) Can I follow what the text is about?
2) Can I locate information in the text and use a quote? 3) Can I explain information and ideas that a writer has hinted at?
4) Can I give reasons why a text is set out in this way?
5) Can I explain how and why a writer uses particular words and sentences?
6) Can I discuss the effect a writer wanted to create for a reader?
7) Can I compare this text to my life or the world around me?
Think about these things next time you read a book.
