Dear Parents/Carers

We have recently received a letter from The Rt Hon Ed Balls MP, Secretary of State for Education. He has written personally to thank staff and students for the hard work which led to our very successful GCSE results last summer.

We have put his letter on our website for you to read. Thank you for the part that you played in this success and in the Academy story of continual improvement.

This year, we have reached a significant milestone with 40% of our Year 11 gaining 5+ A*-C grades including English and Maths and we are an improving school.

Later this week, in order to secure our improvement and to learn how to work even better as a school, we will be welcoming a specialist, trained team of consultants to visit the Academy. This team will visit lessons, work with teachers and talk to students. We know that the comments which the team makes will help us make plans for the future.

In view of the fact that our last Ofsted inspection was three years ago, we may be formally visited again. When that happens, I will of course inform you.

You will then be able to help tell the story of improvement which has been at the heart of Northampton Academy over the last four years.

And we continue to improve by Raising the Bar for every Academy student.

Please do not hesitate to contact me personally if I can be of further assistance with any matter concerning the education and the safety of your son or daughter at the Academy. I much appreciate your good news stories and of course, if you are having difficulties or if there are issues which need to be resolved, we promise to address these immediately.
