Swine Flu Information
The Government have updated their advice regarding Swine Flu and we have provided a link to the current information leaflet here.
The NHS advice is that people should not stay at home just because a member of their family has flu. Students are expected to attend the Academy as normal unless they have flu themselves. If students become ill with flu symptoms during the course of the school day and are considered likely to have flu, arrangements will be made with parents/carers for them to go home and will be isolated from others until they have left the Academy premises.
In the unlikely event of the Academy needing to close, communications to parents will be via letters sent home with students, this website, local radio and using text messages. It is therefore important that you let us know if your phone number has changed recently.
The single most effective thing everyone can do to protect themselves and others from infection is to follow good hygiene practices. When you cough or sneeze it is especially important to follow the rules of good hygiene to prevent the spread of germs:
Always carry tissues Use clean tissues to cover your mouth and nose when you cough and sneeze Bin the tissues after one use Wash your hands with soap and hot water or a sanitiser gel often.
CATCH IT, BIN IT, KILL IT.
