Careers Education, information, advice, guidance and support at Northampton Academy

Over the past two years we have created and will continue to develop an excellent programme for ensuring that all students are given the tools, skills and resources to support them in their personal goals and asperations for their future.

The Careers Education programme will provide this support & guidance through a framework that is progressive and mapped from year 7 through to the 6th form.

Years 7 & 8 will focus on providing a framework where students understand their strengths and areas for development, including key skills and personal attributes which will support them when making their option choices in year 8.

Years 9, 10, 11 and through to the sixth form, students need to have a deeper understanding of the world of work and further/higher education options to support their future needs and asperations. A variety of initiatives will support this including; supporting personal statement writing, CV writing and letter of applications, interview skills. We will also ensure that all students have a worthwhile and enjoyable work-experience for all in year 10 and some in 12. We will also ensure students have access to outside agencies including providing a Careers Fair Event.
