Malcom Arnold (1921 - 2006) Arnold was born in Northampton and found acclaim as one of Britain's most successful composers and also an Oscar-winning writer of music for film. It is impossible to categorise Arnold's unique music except to say that it has a dramatic edge which creates an unmistakable soundscape.
