Understanding PEE

What is PEE?

PEE simply stands for "Point Evidence Explain".

It is a system we use in English to make sure that we include all of the important information when writing about a play, novel or poem.

Point: This simply means the point that we wish to make about a character or a situation.

Evidence: This is another word for quotation or a few words from the book. When you are putting a quotation into your work, it is important that you write it exactly as it is in the book.

Explain: When you have made your point and inserted your evidence you need to explain what the quotation means.
