The Curriculum Families

The Northampton Academy will be at the forefront of educational developments that are designed to support the highest levels of achievement.

Detailed work to shape the curriculum for the new Academy, whilst at the same time providing continuity of learning for those students transferring from Lings Upper School, has been undertaken. The Academy is to take Sport with Business and Enterprise as its specialism.

The Academy will make extensive use of technology, both for classroom work and for individualised learning. The Academy's aim is to introduce and develop the use of electronic whiteboards, the Internet and Intranet, audio and video conferencing and interactive curriculum modules.

An essential focus for the curriculum is the preparation of the individual student as an active and responsible member of society. The curriculum will also prepare students for taking up places in Further and Higher Education as well as the World of Work.
