Key Stage 3 Curriculum Summary
This curriculum provides a framework to support pupils’ progress related to the three aspects of pupil achievement and the expectations for 11 and 14 year olds, with the core aim of preparing students for KS4. The Geography KS3 curriculum is progressive as skills are developed with increasing complexity as pupil’s progress throughout Years 7-9. There are currently fieldwork opportunities embedded within the KS3 curriculum for each year group which will help prepare students for the GCSE and A level requirements in KS4 and KS5. Pupils will be regularly assessed throughout lessons where they will become familiar with the demands of GCSE style questions, through end of topic assessments and finally, pupils will sit one end of year test which will include selected topics that have been covered over the course of the academic year
