BTEC Sports Students Visit - Kieron Wicks

Categories: Latest Academy News, Careers & Enterprise

Kieron Wicks, Education and Employability Manager of the Derby County Community Trust delivered a presentation on the careers available in the football industry to students studying BTEC Sport. Kieron has coached around the world and shared his experiences with our students. He talked through a range of careers linked to football, from medicine to marketing, Health and Social Care to Human Resources. He advised students on the rewards available, the progression and development opportunities, and things to consider - the unsociable hours and the time spent travelling missing family events.

Kieron invited students to ask questions, which included queries on salary, career availability and planning, all of which Kieron answered, providing in-depth knowledge for students to take away.

The Northampton Academy Careers and PE Department would like to thank Kieron for taking time out of his busy schedule to visit us and delivering an excellent insight into the opportunities available to our students.
