On Wednesday 15th May our Year 8-10 Athletics Team competed at the Northampton Town Athletics Championships. It was a beautiful day and the students had been training hard in preparation for the competition - so we anticipated some good performances.
We were not disappointed, all the students demonstrated resilience and the Academy values of determination and ambition. It was pleasing to be part of a team who showed so much support for one another. Notable performances came from:
- Nikolas - 3rd Junior boys 800m
- Ronaldo - 2nd junior boys javelin & Shot Putt
- Panashe -3rd Junior girls 800m
- Pharell - 1st inter boys 100m
- Jor’el - 1st inter boys 400m & long jump
- Scott - 3rd inter boys High Jump
- Clifford - 3rd inter boys Javelin, 3rd- inter boys relay
- Marie - 3rd inter girls 200m
- Dammy - 1st inter girls shot putt, 2nd inter girls relay
Overall team results as follows:
- Junior Boys- 6th
- Inter Boys- 3rd
- Junior Girls-7th
- Inter Girls- 3rd
