Well done to our Year 8 student who has recently raised over £100 for Parkinson’s UK, a charity close to her heart. She knitted a creative range of cute knitted owls which proved so popular they sold out and she had to start taking orders for them.
The owls were sold through her mum’s Facebook page and her dad helped by selling them in his workplace.
The owls are £2 each and a range of larger owls for £3 each has been introduced to the collection. In preparation for the festive season, a range of decorative hanging owls is also being knitted.
“I want to thank my family for all their help fulfilling the orders and especially my dad who helped me sell so many!” commented the student who has since raised another £200 for Parkinson’s UK and she is still going strong, Mrs Smith, her form tutor is very proud of her and has agreed to allow the owls to be sold in her classroom too.
This donation will help Parkinson’s UK continue to find a cure and improve life for everyone affected by the disease.
