This term, students from Year 7 and Year 10 took part in our exciting Carnegie Medal Shadowing programme.

The Carnegie Medal is one of the UK's most prestigious children's book awards, celebrating outstanding writing for young people. As part of the shadowing scheme, our students read a selection of the shortlisted titles and met each Wednesday during DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) time to discuss their thoughts and share their opinions.

All Year 12 students attended the UCAS Discovery Day at the NEC on Monday 22 June. The event provided a fantastic opportunity for students to meet representatives from a wide range of universities, all under one roof.

Students and staff at Northampton Academy are celebrating after two of our Sixth Formers, Aarya Litt and Liv Shaw, took home National Awards at this year’s Best in Everyone Awards ceremony. The special, in-person ceremony was held at Boughton House in Kettering, Northamptonshire on Friday 19^th June.

On Thursday 18^th June a group of year 8 students travelled to Nuneaton where they took part in a United Learning Sports Event. Each of our students were fully engaged in both rugby and cricket activities, which gradually increased in both skill level and challenge. They had a fantastic time throughout the event and were delighted to make new friends from different schools.

After being crowned the East Midlands regional champions, our U13 NFL Flag Football team represented our region at the GB National Championships in Manchester on Wednesday, 17th June.
