Our House System

We are excited to be launching our new House System in September 2025. Designed to foster a strong sense of pride, belonging and teamwork, our House System will be a key part of your childís journey at Northampton Academy. 

Our five Houses; Abington, Derngate, Franklins, Silverstone and Rockingham, are named after well-known places in Northamptonshire, celebrating our local heritage and helping students feel connected to the local area. These names were chosen through a student-led process, with voting and collaboration at its heart, creating a system that is truly owned by our school community.

The House System offers exciting opportunities for friendly competition, including House Points, inter-house events, and celebratory milestones. Each House will be led by a dedicated Head of House, who will lead, support the organisation of events, and actively engage students in and encourage participation in House activities throughout the year. Houses will be made up of students from all year groups, helping to build strong relationships and a sense of belonging and inclusivity that extends beyond individual year groups.

We are confident that our new House System will embody our school values and inspire pride, teamwork, and a lasting connection to both Northampton Academy and the wider Northamptonshire community.
