Town Athletics Success

On Wednesday 15th May our Year 8-10 Athletics Team competed at the Northampton Town Athletics Championships. It was a beautiful day and the students had been training hard in preparation for the competition - so we anticipated some good performances.

We were not disappointed, all the students demonstrated resilience and the Academy values of determination and ambition. It was pleasing to be part of a team who showed so much support for one another. Notable performances came from:

  • Nikolas - 3rd Junior boys 800m
  • Ronaldo - 2nd junior boys javelin & Shot Putt
  • Panashe -3rd Junior girls 800m
  • Pharell - 1st inter boys 100m
  • Jor’el - 1st inter boys 400m & long jump
  • Scott - 3rd inter boys High Jump
  • Clifford - 3rd inter boys Javelin, 3rd- inter boys relay
  • Marie - 3rd inter girls 200m
  • Dammy - 1st inter girls shot putt, 2nd inter girls relay

Overall team results as follows:

  • Junior Boys- 6th
  • Inter Boys- 3rd
  • Junior Girls-7th
  • Inter Girls- 3rd

A big congratulations and good luck to Jor’el, Pharell, Ronaldo and Dammy on their selection to the upcoming County Championships on Saturday 8th June.
