Ignite the Spark: Creating Digital Futures is a series of workshops presented by the Virtual Augmented Reality team at Northampton College. Year 10 Computer Science students enjoyed a morning of subject-specific content linked to the curriculum that showcased future careers in the digital world.
Star Wars themed workshops included:
• Designing a spaceship in Piskel
• Sculpting an alien in Sculptfab
• Using PlayCanvas to design a rollerball game.
• Designing promotional material for the first Esports event to be held in space.
These exciting and creative tasks are designed to encourage young people to consider the skills and knowledge to develop for careers in this industry. Gaining experience with new and emerging platforms is also vital to any budding designer or coder.
We aim to broaden student's awareness of the AI world and the amazing potential that it offers.
