On Thursday 19th March, the newly recruited Sports Leaders completed their training day, as part of the completion of their Level 1 qualification. The training day involved a mixture of both theory and practical elements of leadership.
Throughout the sessions, students were challenged to develop key skills such as communication, planning, motivation, teamwork, and positive leadership behaviours. They took part in a range of practical challenges that encouraged them to step outside their comfort zones and apply what they had learned in real‑time scenarios.
To conclude the training, the Sports Leaders delivered a structured basketball lesson to a group of Year 7 students—an excellent opportunity to demonstrate their progress and bring together all aspects of their training.
The leaders will now demonstrate their development in a number of upcoming community leadership opportunities, to complete the course.
Well done to all involved—your commitment, enthusiasm, and growing confidence throughout the day were fantastic to see.
