When I was applying to do teacher training, I was a bit lost on all the different routes that I could take. I spoke to a former teacher of mine, who helped me decide which path was right for me, and that was United Teaching.

I was in a classroom from the first day of the school year (which did sound daunting!) but I had so much support through United Learning and also regular weekly sessions with other local trainees, organised through United Teaching. There was also support for our PGCE through timely university sessions with the whole cohort where we could discuss ideas for our essays. In addition, there would be regular observations done by United Teaching which were wholly supportive and they would also be available for any help I needed, for example, when I was collecting evidence against the Teachers' Standards.

I am now still in the same school that I trained in and am a mentor to an ECT who also did United Teaching. I think United Teaching is a great platform to help people become the best teacher possible.
