Thank you for your interest in Northampton Academy. We are a large, mixed secondary school with a strong sixth form serving the eastern side of Northampton. We are proud to be a good local community school and our aim is to ensure that every student makes good or outstanding progress. This section of our website is designed for parents who are considering this academy for their children as well as parents whose children are due to start in the next academic year.
Year 7 Admissions
Our normal admission year is Year 7, when we admit students from a wide range of primary schools. Applications for admission are made via the Northamptonshire Co-ordinated Admissions scheme.
Applications for September 2017 intake (Year 7) closed on Monday 31st October 2016 at 5pm. The Local Authority will advise of notification of places by post or online, if you applied online, on Wednesday 1st March (National Secondary School Allocation Day). This will tell you if you have been successful in obtaining a place.
Appeals and In Year Admissions
We participate in the Local Authority Co-ordinated Scheme for In Year admissions and operate a waiting list for admissions in years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11. If a space becomes available, spaces are allocated according to our over subscription admissions criteria, from the waiting list. If you would like your child to be added to our waiting list, please contact our Admissions team on 01604 210025.
