We are very proud of the Northampton Academy Street Dance Team, who embraced their first ever dance competition at the UDO East Anglia Championships on Sunday 11th February.
The team were amazed by the high standard of dance at the event and they were the only secondary school in attendance, competing against specialist dance schools.
The team stepped up to the mark when it came to their performance and were thrilled to achieve 2nd place overall, which has qualified them to compete in the National Championships later in the year.
The dancers were excellent ambassadors for the school, acting in a professional manner throughout the whole day and showing their passion for dance as well as their determination and commitment to the team.
When they received their medals and trophy they were completely surprised and overwhelmed by their achievement, as they have only been dancing together since September. There were tears of joy all round!
