Northampton Academy Sports Leaders welcomed the Primary Enhanced Schools Year 5 and 6 Sportshall Athletics teams, to take part in a practice event for the upcoming town competition.
The morning session was very efficiently run by our team of Year 13 Sports Leaders, who showed excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills to produce sessions that allowed all the participating students to really progress their performance across the events.
The afternoon session was the first leadership opportunity for our newly recruited leaders. Grouped with existing leaders, they quickly and efficiently grasped the activities and how to lead and officiate them. I was incredibly impressed by their positive attitudes, willingness to learn on the job and especially, their confidence. The leaders will utilise this knowledge to officiate at the town Sportshall Athletics Competition. Overall a very well organised and efficiently managed day, thanks to our amazing team of Northampton Academy Sports Leaders.
