Our early entry Year 9 Music students from the Nucleus STEM cohort have made significant progress to their GCSE music compositions. Some of the ensembles they have chosen to compose for are:
- Solo Violin with Piano Accompaniment
- Solo Clarinet with Piano Accompaniment
- Solo Piano
- Pop Music Group
The students have been performing their solo repertoire, that is soon going to be recorded. They have been submitting recordings to Miss Tustin fortnightly.
As a challenge, the students have also been learning 'Thank You Very Much', from the musical 'Scrooge' in rather impressive time, the students learned this piece over two days. They will be recording this piece as an ensemble, which will be played along to a video showcasing the new Nucleus STEM area.
Of the four units on the GCSE theory exam, the students have already learned one unit and have enjoyed understanding more about 'The Concerto Through Time'.
