Students Win A Place In The Cross Country Championships

Categories: News, Latest Academy News, Sport, Featured

On a very cold Tuesday afternoon, the Northampton Academy cross country team headed to the Racecourse to compete in the annual Town Championships.

The races varied in length from 2.5k to nearly 6k (dependant on age group). Our hopes were high for many of our competitors, looking for top 16 places to gain an invitation to the County Championships in January.

All the runners ran with determination and heart, doing Northampton Academy proud. The top team finish went to the Junior Boys' team (Yr 8&9) who came in a very credible 5th in the town, with top performances from Nikolas K, Ben P and Luke N (16th, 20th, 23rd).

Other notable performances came in the Intermediate Boys' group with top 16 finishes by George T (13th) and Scott W (14th).

Big congratulations to Nikolas, George and Scott who will now progress through to the County Championships.
