Our team of Library Leaders are currently participating in training to learn all the essential aspects of running our busy school library.

Winners of our Valentine's Day Poetry competition have received their prizes, presented by one of our Library Ambassadors, Dorcas. Along with fellow Library Ambassador Jimmy, Dorcas invited students to write a poem or song about something they love.

Firstly, thank you to parents and carers who attended the Year 8 parents’ evening yesterday. It was a really good event, and it was lovely to hear all of the positive conversations happening around the room. The next parents’ evening is for Year 10 on 21st March. 

On Thursday, March 7th, our Year 8 and 9 Table Tennis teams participated in the Northampton Town Team Table Tennis Championships at The Duston School.

Aston, a Year 7 student and author, visited Hunsbury Park Primary School to deliver a whole school assembly about his love for Astronomy. Along with his parents, Aston, who lives with ADHD and Autism, travelled to the school to share his inspiring journey with the children.

We arrive at the end of another fantastic term at Northampton Academy. The students have been amazing, and their consistent engagement in lessons has been brilliant, as always.

Year 9 Computer Science student, Jeremy has recently been recognised as a Digital Champion as part of the Childnet digital leadership scheme.

A group of Year 12 students recently participated in the County Debate Competition held at Northampton Guildhall.

It has been another brilliant fortnight at Northampton Academy with so much going on!

A group of STEM students from Year 10 and Year 12 recently had the opportunity to visit the Omron Automation Lab in Milton Keynes

A group of Year 10 students are participating in the UNI Club project at the University of Northampton. They attended the first day of a six-week project at the university's Waterside Campus alongside other schools.

Ten Year 10 and 9 students attended an event at PA Foundation in Cambridge on Thursday, 18th January. The event was organised to encourage girls to take an interest in STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths).

Year 12 students are enjoying the opportunity to take part in the 'SLT Mixer' project, an opportunity to shadow Year 13 students in their Student Leadership roles.

On Friday, 15th December 2023, students from all year groups visited London to watch 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' at the Palace Theatre.

On Friday, 12th January, the Year 7 & 8 boys' Rugby team attended Franklin's Gardens for a Project Rugby Festival.

On Wednesday, 13th December, a group of NA Sports Leaders welcomed Sarah Harvey from the ‘Northamptonshire School Sport Partnership’. Sarah led some specialist Boccia officiating training in preparation for leading and officiating at the Northampton Key Stage 2 inclusive Boccia Tournament in January. 

This week saw our end-of-term Golden Ticket prize draw. Since September, students have been awarded a Golden Ticket each time they earn five praise points. Praise points are earned by displaying our Pillars of Virtue in and outside their lessons.

Northampton Academy's Year 7 and 8 Rugby teams were given the opportunity to attend a special event at the Cinch Stadium - the home of Northampton Saints Rugby Club.

Due to its popularity, the Northampton Academy Art Department held the Year 7 Christmas Card Competition again this year.

Despite being a busy time of year, there were quite a few entries, and all of them were creative in different ways. There were also some brilliant, innovative 3D designs, as well as flat artwork.
